Since I don’t have a journaling Bible, this product and Bible Journaling are something completely new to me. I have done scrapbooking and this reminded me in many ways of that.
When I first received the package, it honestly reminded me of the cheap craft packs you purchase at the craft store. While the packaging does align with other products in a craft store, I would not personally purchase it. The big $35 Value and the little window to get a glimpse at the contents inside, along with the $24.99 price tag, just reminded me of the cheap quality craft products typically in kits like this.
I did, however, like the image in the bottom left showing me some of the stickers. I think the product would be much more attractive had the packaging had doodling and something extra to catch my eye more.
After opening the package I was a little confused on what I was to do with everything. It wasn’t until reading online that I understood that the pouch was made to fit on a Bible. I found this to be an awesome feature and a great way to store the accessories! I would have liked it if a get started guide would have been included. Since I’m completely new to this, I would have found that to be very beneficial.
While I love the concept of the pouch and the way it should be able to fit on most Bibles, the wording looks like it will start to crack and peel off after a short time.
The archival pen is not anything special. It reminded me exactly of the type of pen I would buy for scrapbooking. However, I don’t think I’ll be using it in my Bible because it looks like it will bleed through the page.
The stickers included with the kit were nice. I particularly liked the word sticker set.
The colored pencils were really nice. They seem to be softer than a typical colored pencil, which I think is a good thing. They are also twistable, which I LOVE!
Overall this was a nice kit. I think those who understand Bible journaling and are looking for a quick start set will find this to be a nice supply to start with.
