From the artist who brought us Hello, My Name is, Do Something, and Grace Wins comes an all new album to remind us to be All In in life. Just taking a look at the cover of Matthew West’s album All In gives a great representation of what it means to be all in in something. As we see Matthew giving himself fully to gravity, we are reminded through the songs to be all in in our lives.
With popular radio single Broken Things we are reminded that God doesn’t just want the “good” parts of our life, but that He uses broken things and the broken pieces in us. After hearing this song on the radio, I was really excited to listen to Matthew West's full album.
One of my favorite songs is the fast paced Amen, which makes me want to jam out to the song! In it, we are reminded that God saved us from our past sins and that we have a new life in Him. I love Matthew’s semi rap in this song as well. This quickly became one of my favorite songs on the album.
In the touching song Becoming Me, featuring Matthew’s daughter Lulu, we are reminded of the role of mothers in our lives. The song is sung from the perspective of a child recounting specific incidents of a mother in their life with the point of the song I’m becoming me because of you.
This was an album I couldn’t wait to get my hands on and is one I don’t plan on taking out of the CD player anytime soon! While I obviously have my favorite go to songs, I think Matthew West did a nice job with his new album.
