Treat yourself to ebooks inspired by Hallmark Christmas movies. Enjoy a heartwarming, feel-good story…and find out what happens after the movie ends.
A Hollywood movie star.
A small-town single dad.
A magical romance.
Christmas is almost here, but Jessica has other things on her mind. Being the producer as well as the star of her new movie is a big challenge, and her co-star ex-boyfriend doesn’t seem to be quite over her. Still, she has the project carefully planned out, and the location is perfect: Homestead, Iowa.
Matt, the mayor of Homestead, owns the inn where Jessica and her co-star are staying. He barely knows who Jessica is, even though his young daughter, Sophie, is one of her best fans. Christmas became even more important to Matt after his wife passed away, and he isn’t happy about the Hollywood production interfering with the community’s traditions.
After Jessica makes more than one faux pas in her first encounter with Matt, she tries to prove that she isn’t just a Hollywood stereotype. Gradually, she grows enamored with Homestead...and with him, which was definitely not part of her plans. Matt’s falling for her, too, but their two worlds clash. Can an innkeeper and an A-list actress really hope for a romantic future together?
This sweet story includes a free original recipe for Snowflake Cherry Pie.

As you may know, I LOVE Hallmark Channel and their Countdown to Christmas. Well, they now have ebooks inspired by the movies. They have a heartwarming, feel-good story that let readers find out what happens after the movie ends.
The first of these new books from Hallmark that I read is Christmas In Homestead by Kara Tate. I remembered watching the movie, but couldn’t remember what happened, until I started reading the book.
I loved the way Tate brought the story to life. As I was reading I could picture the scenes from the movie playing in my mind as the story started to come back.
Initially, I wasn’t sure how I would like reading a book based on a movie I already saw. I have never been one to read movie adapted books. I was surprised by how much I ended up enjoying this story.
Maybe it was that I watched the movie before reading this, but I felt transported right into the movie and pages of this book. I enjoyed the story and reconnecting with the characters. Jessica and Matt were interesting characters in this story as Jessica is trying to produce a movie in a Christmas town. Matt, the mayor, doesn’t want the movie to interfere with the town’s Christmas traditions.
This story made me go from a reluctant reader, wondering if Hallmark and Tate could pull off an enjoyable story for a movie I already saw, to a fan who is looking forward to more of these types of books.
