There’s something about sports that inspires and connects us to family, friends, and our community. It unifies and reminds us of the triumph of the human spirit against all odds. Before I watched a lot of sports-related movies I was into Air Bud. You remember the beloved golden retriever who was great at a number of sports!?!? That is probably where I got my love of labs and goldens from I would watch the movie and think of how awesome it would be to have a dog and to teach it to play all kinds of sports. Those Air Bud movies are ones I watched over and over again growing up.
Today I’m inspired by the stories of those who have triumphed to get where there are today. From sports teams that rise from being underdogs to the athlete who no one thought would ever go anywhere, we can be inspired by the stories of others.
Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history. The film releases in theaters on Wednesday, November 21.
